In order to predict and meet society’s emerging needs, our designers and engineers continue to invent and test new concepts.

Designing for the future

LG has always had their eye on the future. Nearly 20 years ago, LG founded the Life Soft Research Lab, and today our Corporate Design Center continues to experiment with new products and technologies. Our researchers, designers, and trend scouts work to predict the future by examining and identifying consumer needs; weighing the public's interest in products; and then developing concepts and solutions based on their findings. This allows LG to remain one step ahead of the game—always anticipating the needs of tomorrow.

LG Washer Designs

LG washing machines combine unique, innovative features with sleek and sophisticated styling, designed to fit your lifestyle and your décor.

Suitable for any floor of your house, LG washing machines come in a wide range of designer colors, including Wild Cherry Red and Graphite Steel (offering the look of stainless steel without its cost). They also come with optional, matching drawer pedestals for added height and tuck-away storage for detergent and other laundry items. And they come standard with large, chrome-rimmed, glass doors—some even square in shape, a unique feature to LG models—offering you easier loading and unloading.

Other helpful features on LG washing machines include an interior, white, LED tub light for extra visibility, and our (LCD or LED) Intelligent Electronic Controls which feature our Dial-A-Cycle function, allowing you to quickly set your cycle and go.

What’s a SteamWasher™?

The innovative LG SteamWasher™ uses real steam to give you enhanced cleaning performance that exceeds water alone.

How can steam penetrate more effectively than water? It’s surprisingly simple. The molecules of steam are smaller, hotter, and more active. So steam gets between fibers to dissolve dirt, remove odors, and destroy allergens. Steam also takes less time to do a better job, because it reaches higher temperatures more quickly.

What is TrueSteam™ technology?

LG’s revolutionary TrueSteam™ technology uses a real steam generator to convert water into steam that’s fed into the top of the wash-drum through a spray nozzle. Steam then penetrates the fabrics for enhanced cleaning performance—resulting in brighter whites and more vibrant colors.

What is the Allergiene™ Cycle?

The SteamWasher™ with LG’s exclusive Allergiene™ Cycle is the first washer certified “asthma and allergy friendly” by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA).
