Please check the following:

  • Have the transit bolts been removed?
  • Is the unit level? If this is not, then please adjust the feet on the washing machine
  • Is the load unbalanced? Re-distribute the clothes in the drum or remove some.

Meaning

'IE' error code

 

Water Inlet error - Pre-set water level not reached within 8 minutes or normal level within 25 minutes since inlet valve operated- Check water pressure.

'DE' error code

Drain Error - Water has not drained within 5 minutes

 

'FE' error code

Overflow error - Water automatically pumped out because too much water is in the tub

 

'PE' error code

Pressure sensor switch Error - pressure sensor switch failure

 

'DE' error code

Door open Error - Door switch failure - occurs when start/pause button is pressed when door is open

'TE' error cod

Heating Error - Thermistor failure

'CE' error code

Current Error - Main PWB assembly (PCB) failure. Stator assembly short circuited

Lock Error - Lead wire assembly not connected. Hall sensor failure

My washing machine keeps stopping mid cycle. Why is this happening?

The machine is designed to constantly measure load balance, water level & temperature, water content and will adjust the cycle accordingly. This will include stopping the cycle to rebalance the load by 'oscillating' the drum. This is normal.

The unit is vibrating

Ensure the transit bolts from the rear have been removed.  Check that the unit is balanced by putting pressure and pushing down on all four top corners of the machine.  Adjust feet if necessary.  Also ensure the unit is not sitting on wooden floors as it would cause vibration. Then try washing using full loads.

Raise the front legs of the machine about 1cm as this will help the detergent flow better.  If water pressure is high, reduce the flow at the inlet pipes by giving the tap a quarter turn.

Clothes are taking a long time to wash and the times sticks and jumps during a program

This is normal as the washing machine does not wash in real time.  The amount of dirt, clothes and detergent are all factors for consideration during the wash which can affect time.

Use less detergent as your detergent may be highly concentrated or it could be due soft water area.

Use the right amount of detergent as the LG machines are large capacity more detergent needs to be used.  Please refer to Detergent manufacturer recommendations.

I am getting a UE error or time is sticking

Ensure the machine is level and is on a solid floor (no wood or laminate) and ensure the feet are adjusted correctly.

 

This is due to a loading issue.  Always ensure that you fully load the machine and leave only a 4-5 inch gap from the top of the metal drum.    Also don’t mix bed sheets and bath mats/towels together as they would need to be washed separately.

 

If you find the machine sticking in a service wash, that is with nothing inside, then you may need an engineers visit. Please contact our customer service helpline on 0844 847 5454.

The unit is not draining

Check that the outflow hose is not too far down the drain pipe as this could cause backflow.

Also check the Drain pump for any foreign objects such as coins or small clothing.

If the drain hose is connected to an under sink combination trap- check that this is not blocked.

There is smell inside the drum

Carry out 1-2 hot washes on the maximum temperature with a little bit of detergent directly in the drum. This will break down the dirt and body fats that have built up overtime. Going forward we would recommend that you do this kind of service wash every two weeks, depending on usage.
