Installation Instructions

1.Download the LG Mobile Phone Software Update Tool to your computer.

Note: The country and language settings in the LG Mobile Phone Software Update Tool are set automatically based on your computer’s settings. If you want to change them, go to the menu "Options & Help," then choose "Country & Language."

Downloading drivers or manuals

1. Run the LG Mobile Phone Software Update Tool.
2. Under the menu "Customer Support," choose "Application, Manual & USB Driver Download…"
3. Remove the battery from your phone. When prompted, enter either the EMEI/ESN/MEID or the serial number (S/N) as listed on the battery and click the view icon to the right.
4. The LG Mobile Phone Software Update Tool will display a list of software, drivers, and manuals for your phone. Double click on any item in the list to download it. Be sure to keep track of where the file downloads.
5. Once the file has downloaded, unzip it (if necessary) and run it or read it.

• Your phone cannot be used to call, receive calls, or send and receive messages while the software is being upgraded.
• Do not disconnect the USB cable until the upgrade is complete. Disconnecting the USB cable or interrupting the upgrade process before it complete may render your phone unusable.
• The handset will be automatically reset during the upgrade process.
• The process should take 10-30 minutes.

Instructions

1. Download the drivers or software to your computer using the LG Mobile Phone Software Update Tool.
2. Fully charge your phone’s battery.
3. Close the LG Mobile Phone Software Update Tool and all other applications on your phone.
4. Remove the phone’s SD card.
5. Insert the charged battery into your phone.
6. Connect your phone to your computer with the LG USB data cable, start the upgrade software, and select "Start Upgrading."

Instructions for upgrading your phone’s software

1. Unzip the zip file with the drivers or software that you downloaded onto your computer.
2. Run the program called "setup.exe" that you unzipped with the drivers.


To install the drivers or software from your computer:

3. Make sure your phone is not connected to your computer with the USB cable.
4. Turn off the phone and remove its battery.
5. Connect the phone to the computer using the USB cable.


To install the drivers or software starting from the phone:

4. Connect the USB cable to the phone and computer.
5. When the "USB connection mode" popup appears on the phone, select "PC Suite".


To finish installation:

6. The Windows "Found new hardware" wizard will start on your computer.
7. Click "Next" when prompted.
8. When the Windows logo certification popup appears, click "Continue anyway."
9. Click "Finish" to complete the installation.
10. Disconnect the USB cable from your phone and computer.
11. Put the battery back in the phone if you removed it.
12. Turn on the phone.


If you do not get to the Finish button in the Found new hardware wizard:

8a. Disconnect the USB cable from your phone.
8b. Remove the phone’s battery.
8c. Click the "Retry" button in the Found new hardware wizard on your computer.
8d. Connect the USB cable to your phone and your computer.
8e. The Found new hardware wizard should continue.

The phone seems not to have any ringtones. When the call is placed it does not ring.

First check the profiles to see if the phone has not been set to a silent mode. Also check if you set the volume to the proper level.

 Where can I find ringtones and games for my telephone?

You can find ringtones and games on www.lge.com as well as many commercial web sites.

 Where can I find the IMEI and model number?

Look under the battery, inside the phone, or on the box of the device. For the IMEI number you can enter the code *#06#" on your mobile phone.

 Where can I find the Software for my mobile phone?

Please go to the software's and drivers menu on www.lgmobile.com and select the model number of your mobile.

 Where can I get the PUK (Pin Unlock Key) code of my SIM card?

Please check in the original documents delivered with your SIM card (from the provider). The PUK code maybe different for each card. If you cannot find it please contact your service provider.

 Where can I find the PIN code of my SIM card?

Please check in original documents your SIM card was delivered with (from the provider). The PIN code maybe different for each card. If you can not find it please contact your service provider.

 What is the PIN code?

The Personal Identification Number of a SIM card is a security code. It prevents unauthorized users to use your phone to make calls.  When it is mistyped 3 times in a row the SIM card is locked.

 What is the PUK (PIN Unlock Key) code?

The PUK or PIN Unlock Key is a code that is used to unlock SIM cards. 

 The mobile is asking to input a NCK code. What does it mean?

NCK is a SIM (un)lock code. The SIM you installed cannot be used in this phone. Please contact your operator.

 T9 (predictive text) is not working

To enable the T9 function (predictive text), enter the menu while writing a message and enable it from there press the # button (not applicable for all models).

 I can't send SMS message. What is wrong?

Please contact your local operator and confirm the SMS service center number  check if it is correctly saved in your phone.

 I am having Pc-Sync compatibility problems what to do?

PC-Sync programs are specific for each mobile and are usually provided phone box kit. You can download PC Sync/Suite programs through www.lge.com/www.lgmobile.com.

 What is a PC Sync function?

PC Sync allows the user to connect the phone to a computer with a cable and synchronize data like calendar and contact information between the phone and a computer application such as Outlook.

 Is it possible to transfer ringtones to another phone or PC that are on the phone by default (miff files)?

No. The ringtones which are already on a phone (by default) cannot be copied by PC Sync or sent by Bluetooth. Please note that these ring-tones cannot be deleted!

 How can I send pictures from phone to phone?

Sending pictures from phone to phone can be done with Bluetooth compatible phones or through sending an MMS message. Refer to your manual for details.

 Why are the photos so small when I make a picture?

Check what the resolution setting is on the camera. In some camera modes, the resolution may be fixed (like picture frame or multi-shot)

 What is a call hold?

Call hold enables you to put a caller on hold while a second call is answered or made.

 What is a call restriction?

A call restriction enables you to restrict or bar certain or all types of calls to and from your mobile phone (,All outgoing, international, international when roam, all incoming, incoming when roam).  To deactivate this function select Cancel All.

 Can't hear ringtone when the headset is connected; what to do?

The ringtone is played through the main speaker of the phone even when the headset is connected. Check the ringtone volume.

 I can't use the vibration alerting mode.

To enable the vibration, check the profile menu.In some phones you can enable the vibration just long pressing the *  key or the left navigation key;  if not please make a "Reset settings" ( default code 0000) in the "settings" menu  and verify again (this will reset all your other custom settings also though).

 I can't hear the caller at the other end. What can I do?

You may have turned down the call volume. Check the volume buttons or volume settings in the menu.

 I can receive calls but can't make them

You might have blocked the outgoing calls. Please refer to the manual of your mobile phone to un-block outgoing calls (for network password during this procedure contact your provider).

The Phone / battery seams to be dead. What can be done?

Check the battery and battery charger. Try with another battery charger or with a replacement battery if available. Note: it may take up to 30 minutes before the screen indicates that charging has begun (depending on the status of the battery).

 What is the average lifetime of a mobile phone (Lithium Ion or Lithium Poly) battery?

Mobile phone batteries have a limited lifetime. When it is observed that the battery lasts for half its original standby time, replacement is recommended (only use authorized replacement parts).

 My mobile phone has a hot battery. What is wrong?

During long calls, video streaming, or if games/Internet are used for a long time, the phone may become warm. This is normal and has no effect upon the life of the product or performance. However when the battery becomes really hot (burn your fingers on it) the phone should be checked by an Authorized Service Center.
