What You Need to Know about Vacuum Cleaners

The LG Design Philosophy for Vacuum Cleaners

Design plays a critical role in harmonising technology and human needs. In an effort to predict emerging needs and deliver innovative products to the public, LG has developed a comprehensive design philosophy that boils down to four basic elements: concept, style, interface, and finish.

At LG, we strive to make your home life easier and more enjoyable by creating digital appliances that fit your lifestyle and home décor.

Design That Integrates Sensitive Ergonomics and Digital Technology

In this era of digital technology, LG has been delving deeply into design and research. Our design team is focused on creating digital appliances that make life easier and more fun.

Digital technology is becoming an increasingly important tool in our modern lives. A growing number of products come equipped with “intelligent” microchips and networking options. This technology, though still in its early stages, has great potential—requiring our designers to put on their “inventing caps” to predict emerging trends, design new lifestyle concepts, and test out their designs on a demanding public.

Designing for the Future

At the LG Life Soft Research Lab, established almost 20 years ago, researchers, designers, and trend scouts work to predict the future by examining and identifying consumer desires; observing the public’s interest in products; and developing design concepts and solutions based on this research.

This is how LG stays one step ahead of the game—we’re always working on products for the future. Our research is focused not only on new products and technological trends, but also on understanding customer and market behaviour.

LG Vacuum Cleaner Design

LG Vacuum Cleaners use advanced technology to compress dust into manageable cubes for easy disposal. Dust goes through ten stages of filtration, and a HEPA filter, before it even reaches the compressor, in order to meet the stringent testing standards of the British Allergy Foundation (BAF). What’s more, LG Vacuum Cleaners are ergonomically designed, with the power controls placed conveniently on the hose, to make vacuuming easier.

What Is a Compressor?

LG’s newest vacuum cleaners feature the world’s first Motorised Dirt Compression system, which compacts dirt into solid cubes that are easy and hygienic to dispose.

How Does the Vacuum Form Dirt Cubes?

A unique Rotablade inside the dirt chamber rotates continuously from side to side, tightly compacting dirt. Then, when the chamber is full and a dirt cube has been formed, the digital “Dirt Full” indicator lights up.

Is Emptying the Dirt Chamber Difficult?

Removing the dirt cubes from the compressor is easy, and the cubes can be removed with a simple flick of the wrist.

Why Is a HEPA Filter Important?

A High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter is a fine-dirt and odour air-shield. It consists of a carbon filter to deodorise smells, and a HEPA 12- or 13-filter that removes 99.97% of dirt.
