LG Electronics has embraced its responsibility as a global corporation and is proud to be doing its part by leading voluntary green house gas emission reduction programs and developing environmentally-friendly products, while also performing Energy, Environment, Safety & Health (EESH) management activities that focus on preventative measures to protect the environment.
Environmental Vision
LG Electronics has an environmental management strategy and is also developing environmentally friendly products to create a cleaner, safer world. It will reduce environmental production impact in response to environmental issues.
CO2 & Energy
LG works hard tackling climate change and reducing greenhouse gases emitted from its production facilities. The company's ongoing inventory process will reduce emissions from its products by continually monitoring statistics. It also plans to eliminate waste by increasing energy-efficiency and using new technology, designed to work with renewable energy.
EESH Management
LG's stabilization policy encourages sustainable development and eco-production. The environmental achievement evaluation system will improve energy, environment, safety, and health. In an emergency situation, LG aims to respond efficiently and positively.
Green Products
LG's eco-design strategy reduces the environmental impact of a product's development, production, and circulation while improving efficiency of resources, recyclability, and reducing hazardous materials. Many LG products use the eco-design: washers, TVs, notebooks, and phones. LG's products are resource and energy efficient, generating less waste.
Supply Chain Environmental Management
LG developed the Green Program to ensure that its partner companies also comply with national and international regulations. LG (and its supply chain) must not use any hazardous substances, therefore minimizing the environmental impact.
Take-back & Recycling
LG Electronics has established several basic take-back facilities, allowing consumers to return end-of-life products. LG also factored in economic and environmental feasibility during design. Recycling products conserves natural resources, and protects the environment.
