Note
- Level A-I : The six hazardous substances that are regulated by the RoHS                     Directive 2002/94/EC
- Level A-II : Substances that are regulated by national or international legislation                     (other than the RoHS Directive 2002/94/EC) or substances that LG                     Electronics has decided to phase out due to the risks it poses
- Although Deca-BDE was exempted from the restriction under the ROHS   directive, LG Electronics has banned all PBDE, including Deca-BDE from its   products in light of the precautionary principle.
- PVC is currently being phased out from use in product components developed   since January 2008, and is due to be phased out from use in all newly   developed mobile phones from 2010. PVC will be totally banned from use in   household appliance models developed by 2014.
- BFR will be banned from use in all newly developed mobile phones from 2010.
This will be extended to other product lines, such as washing machines,   refrigerators, and air conditioners with the development of substitute   components.
- PVC and BFR will be banned from use in all TVs and monitors developed by   2012.
- Going ahead with this phase-out schedule, LGE’s mobile phone division has   already phased out BFR in all housing parts for batteries and   chargers/adaptors, and has made significant progress in phasing out BFR in   handsets (the majority of models launched after Jan 2006 come with BFR-free   handset cases).
- Since January 2007, LGE has been only been manufacturing and selling   batteries containing halogen-free printed circuit boards. What’s more, three   models sold during and after 2006 contain no BFR in their main PCB, and all   handsets developed since June 2007 have a halogen-free main PCB & FPCB   (excluding camera/LCD module etc.).
- The use of phthalates and antimony will be prohibited for all new mobile   phones developed from 2012. The use of beryllium oxide has already been   phased out.
- The use of Phthalates, Antimony, and Beryllium will be prohibited for all TVs   and monitors developed by 2012. The use of Phthalates will be prohibited for all   newly developed washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners, cleaners,   and microwave ovens by 2014.
- Among OEM models of ODD (Optical Disk Drive) products, 3 models for Apple   (RU1S-1, R1S-1, JR11-1) and 3 models for HLDS (R5, RU2, JD11) are   halogen-free products.
