LG Electronics Introduces 32-speed CD-RW - the Highest in Speed in Korea
-    Comes with 32-speed CD-writing, 10-speed CD-rewriting, and 40-speed CD playback
-    Uses optimized writing approach based on artificial intelligence technology to offer maximum reliability
-    Minimized noise and heat emission

LG Electronics introduced its 32-speed and 24-speed CD RW drives - products growing in popularity as the next generation optical storage device - to Korea.

The new 32-speed CD-RW (Re-Wrtitable) drive (Model: GCE-8320B) comes with the highest speed among Korean products offering 32-speed CD writing, 10-speed CD rewriting, and 40-speed CD playback features.

It used "Fail Free Technology," the optimized writing method based on artificial intelligence technology, to record data in the speed most reliable in the user environment.

The product also adopted the "Zone CLV (Constant Linear Velocity)" method for high - speed writing. With Zone CLV, the disc is divided into zones to ensure reliability of data recording by keeping the writing speed of the inner and outer areas of the CD to be consistent with each other.

At the same time, the average data processing speed was enhanced to less than 100ms (1/10 of a second). The 32-speed CD-RW drive also comes with an 8MB buffer memory and incorporated buffer under run prevention technology to ensure maximum reliability in data storage.

LGE's CD-RW drive is also the first in the world to incorporate a new design that minimizes noise, vibration, and heat emission coming from continuous data recording and playback. Moreover, disc compatibility has also been enhanced so that most of CD types can be played.

This means that even general consumers can use the product with just a PC hook-up without requiring any additional equipment. The CD-RW comes with Easy CD Creator 5.1 from Roxio, a Drag & Drop approach to CD production so that users can easily create a CD from their personal computers.

The CD-RW drive, which can record data more than 1,000 times repeatedly is an upgrade from CD-ROM drive that could only read stored data. The demand for this cutting edge digital optical storage device is currently rapidly growing. Its market size grew from 25 million units last year to 38 million units (US$4 billion) in 2001.
