LG Electronics has introduced its new 42-inch digital PDP TV (Model: MN-42PZ10), expanding its presence in the digital TV market with a wider range of product models.

LGE's 42-inch PDP TV is an ultra slim/ultra light TV set with a thickness of 8.2cm and weighing only 32.7kg. Its screen ratio is 16:9 (length:width), has over 160 degrees of viewing angle and can receive both analog and SD (Standard Definition) digital signals.

The product also received many accolades with its simple understated and elegant design. It received the Good Design (GD) Award (Prime Minister Prize) last August.

The suggested retail price for this 42-inch PDP TV is set in the 8.9 million won range (PDP monitor, speaker and set-top box included).

By adding the 42-inch to its existing 60-inch (approx. 17.9 million won) and 40-inch (approx. 6.9 million won) PDP TV sets, LGE has expanded its PDP TV product line to offer more choices to consumers.

Moreover, LGE offers both16:9 (60- and 42-inch PDP TVs) and 4:3 screen ratios (40-inch PDP TV) to become the only PDP TV maker in the world that can effectively respond to every broadcasting environment around the world.

LGE also plans to introduce the new 42-inch PDP TV to the international market to follow the 60- and 40-inch PDP TVs. LGE's PDP TV sets are sold under the Xcanvas brand in Korea and Flatron Plasma brand in overseas markets.

LGE will further expand its PDP TV offerings next year by adding 50- and 36-inch PDP TV sets to solidify its position as the PDP TV leader. In addition to PDP TV and LCD TV, LGE will also unveil its ultra slim LCD projection TV within the year to increase its offerings of space saving digital TV sets.
