B.B. Hwang is Executive Vice President & CEO of LG Electronics Business Solutions Company. He has been one of the top contributors to LG's high-tech business and core technologies for more than three decades.

In 2009, LG reorganized its business units, creating the Business Solutions Company to focus on B2B products and solutions. Based on his enormous achievements and commitment prior to the recent reorganization, LG appointed B.B. Hwang to his current position, confident that he can continue to lead LG toward greater accomplishments.

As Executive Vice President & CEO of LG Digital Media Company from 2005 to 2008, B.B. Hwang led the firm to achieve top global market share in three product categories, including optical disk drives, where LG has held the top position for 11 consecutive years. The company also created numerous innovative products during B.B. Hwang's tenure. Recent achievements include the world's first dual format HD DVD and Blu-ray player and the world's first network Blu-ray player.

B.B. Hwang is a long-time LG veteran and held other leadership positions in the company prior to working in its Digital Media and Business Solutions Companies. In 2003, he was appointed Executive Vice President & General Manager of LG Mobile Communications Company's CDMA Division. That same year he helped the company achieve number one market share in CDMA mobile handsets globally. Prior to that, he worked in LG's PC Division and several of the company's research centers. He established LG's first high technology research center in Silicon Valley in 1984. From 2000 to 2002, he served as Executive Vice President & General Manager of the PC division.

B.B Hwang studied engineering at Seoul National University before joining LG Electronics in 1977. That same year he joined the GoldStar Central Research Laboratory as a researcher. His entire career has been focused on creating innovative products and technologies, contributing directly to LG's success.
